Born in Chicago and raised in Seattle, Gaby studied abroad in Amsterdam before moving to New York. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College (1995), she worked as a costume designer and stylist for ten years before launching Tucker in 2006. It was a natural segue. Gaby had been designing things for herself and clients throughout the years.
In 2010, she designed a Tucker for Target collection for the GO International program. Elected to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2011, Gaby has worked with the NYC Economic Development Corp on Fashion Initiatives. She participated in the 92nd St Y Fashion Fellows Program as a mentor and was a finalist for the Woolmark Prize in 2013. She has served on the CFDA selection committee for the Liz Claiborne scholarship fund and is an MBA candidate at the Institut Français de la Mode, Paris 2017.
